My Primary Care Internal Medicine practice is located at 1400 Centre Street, Suite 104, Newton Centre, Massachusetts 02459.  I provide comprehensive primary care services including "state of the art" preventive care services, care for common acute and chronic illnesses, expert diagnostic assessments, and immediate care. I have 27 years of experience coordinating care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with our world renowned specialists.

Philip Triffletti MD, MS Bio

Dr. Triffletti has moved his medical practice from Needham Internal Medicine-Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare. He served as a member of the executive leadership team as the Associate Medical Director and Director of Health Care Quality.

The community based primary care medical group consists of more than 200 providers in Eastern Massachusetts.

 He began his career at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 1995. He has been consistently involved in clinical care for patients, teaching medicine, and providing clinical leadership. As the medical director for Health Care Quality, he pioneered the development of a robust patient safety program providing mentoring and training to physician colleagues. Partnering with the medical center, we created a nurse navigator role to expedite referrals to the Breast Center for new breast cancer patients. Since 2015, he developed a program for safer use of opioid medication.  He also started an innovative community based medical physician peer review committee to improve care for patients.

  • Received full medical scholarship from United States Air Force and served 4 years finishing at rank of Major
  • Internship and Residency in primary care (emphasizing orthopedics, dermatology, GYN and mental health), University of Vermont Medical Center, VT 1988-1991
  • Board Certified Internal Medicine since 1991
  • Co-founded Hospitalist Program at BIDMC in 1997
  • Community volunteer for court sponsored fatherhood program, counseling fathers about preventative health care, at ROCA in Chelsea 2005-2014
  • Medical Director for Leonard Florence Center for Living, a world class skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation center 2009-2021
  • Ranks in top 15% of primary care physicians for patient satisfaction (Press Ganey)
  • Teacher of the year 2009 and 2018 for Beth Israel Deaconess Health Care/Harvard Medical School, teaching students primary care in the office setting
  • Interests include running, swimming, strength training, golf, skiing, motorcycling and singing
